Modular Training Format

Our training consists of two Modules that can be taken and paid for separately.

Immersion includes 6-days of training that are equivalent  to the Immersion Module 1 and may be taken separately by anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of yoga, where it comes from, why we practice, and how to cultivate a lifelong personal practice, even if they don't’ want to complete teacher training.

Module 2 deepens one’s personal practice and then provide teaching methodology and ample time to practice and prepare you to teach. This module is required for those who wish to complete 200hr teacher training, become certified teachers and have the option to register as a 200hr RYT through the Yoga Alliance.

Extended Format

Each summer we offer modular structure and weekend classes to fit the needs of our local resident participants, plus a format that is extended enough to allow for deeper absorption of knowledge.


6-Day Immersion/Module 1*: June 21-26
Thursday to Tuesday, meets daily from 8am-4pm
Module 2: 
July 6-8, 13 - 15, 20-22, 27-29
Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Meets Fri 5:30-8pm, Sat 8am-5pm & Sun 8am-2pm

August 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 24-26
Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Meets Fri 5:30-8pm, Sat 8am-5pm & Sun 8am-12pm

Maya Siklai, RYT 500, YACEP and Owner of Yoga Hawaii
In total Maya has completed over 1000 hrs of training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara, Prenatal/Postnatal, Restorative, Partner Yoga, Chair Yoga and Children’s yoga. She has been practicing yoga for 15 years and teaching for 9 years.

Tara Lavery, RYT 200 is a yoga teacher and licensed Massage Therapist. Tara has led portions of teacher trainings in Hawaii for the past 2 years and loves to guide trainees to their innate & divine healing potential through Yoga. 

Lauren Seaman, RYT 200, Personal Trainer & Health Coach
Lauren has studied various styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin.  She is currently working towards her 500 hour yoga training with Yoga Medicine's Tiffany Cruikshank.

Mickel Yust, 200hr Certified VinyasaYoga Teacher and PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)
Mickel has been practicing yoga for 9 years and began teaching after completing her 200hr training in 2013. She now works as a Physical Therapist Assistant and teaches weekly Vinyasa yoga classes at Yoga Hawaii.

Jen Mylett, RYT 200
Jen has been practicing yoga for over 16 years. She completed her teacher training here at Yoga Hawaii in 2015 there she has been teaching Vinyasa yoga classes since. 

Lizabeth Kashinsky, RYT 200, certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist
Lizabeth has been practicing yoga for 17 years, and teaching for 8 years. She has worked in conservation in Hawaii since 1994 and holds an MA in Ecopsychology which seeks to restore the human disconnect with nature.

Required Reading*

The Yoga Sutras* – Patanjali, translation and commentary by Swami Satchitananda

Light on Yoga* – B.K.S. Iyengar

The Bhagavad Gita – Any translation is acceptable. We recommend Stephen Mitchell's translation.

The Key Muscles of Yoga – Ray Long

*Only Light on Yoga and The Yoga Sutras are required for Immersion participants. You do not need to read all of the books before the start of training.

Only the Introduction chapter of Light on Yoga must be read by first day of training on June 23.

GI Bill or MyCAA spouse scholarships

Active duty military and veterans, we are approved by the VA to accept your GI Bill benefits for the full cost of tuition for our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. Our program is listed on the WEAMS website in the Non College Degree category.

GI Bill

Once you register we'll take care of the rest! We'll "certify" you as registered in the program and the VA will disburse the tuition funds to us directly, as well as a books and supplies stipend to you and a housing stipend if you qualify.
