About Us

Yoga Hawaii founders Tania Jo Ingrahm and Rupali.
Yoga Hawaii has been open since October 1999, founded by Tania Jo Ingrahm and Rupali Embry—friends and fellow yoginis for over 20 years.
In October 2011, the studio ownership passed to studio manager Maya Siklai, who now carries the vision, adding her flavor and beautifully nuanced interpretation. (To read more about Rupali and Tania’s current adventures, please visit their website.)
From the very beginning, the vision for Yoga Hawaii was that of a vibrant and vital yoga shala, filled with sincere practitioners engaged in the deeper practices of this ancient healing tradition. Many of Yoga Hawaii teachers have studied with great yoga masters—including the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson, Sharath Jois, as well as masters from the Kripalu tradition, Anusara, DeRose Method and many others. Today they continue to pass along the teachings as clearly and authentically as possible.
Yoga Hawaii is foremost a community, and each teacher and student contributes to the collective spirit through the offering of his or her energy. From the minute you walk through our doors, we welcome you as a member of this vibrant yoga community and appreciate your presence. Our community offers a depth of caring and concern that you’ll find hard to match anywhere.
Our mission is to help create a more conscious planet, more deeply fulfilled individuals and the sharing of joy through service and teaching yogic methods of health and well-being.
Our desire is to assist you in discovering the rich depth of yoga and get what serves you from this practice—whether it’s healing, fitness, peace of mind, a deeper connection to Source, community or a just a more positive outlook.
We honor the Divine within you.
Namaste ~
