Ease Into Ashtanga
These classes are a perfect fit for the new yoga student wishing to ‘start at the beginning,’ learning the foundations of Ashtanga yoga practice and philosophy.
Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous style of yoga that requires an understanding of bandhas (internal locks), ujjayi breath (a breathing technique), the vinyasa sequence and drishtis (gaze points) to thoroughly enjoy the practice. This class will give you that understanding. Class material will vary each time.
In addition, you will begin working with Surya Namaskara A & B (the sun salutations), the standing poses and the seated poses up to Navasana. You can then move into Ashtanga Yoga Half Primary Series classes.

You are welcome to remain at this level for as long as you wish, or proceed to Ashtanga Half or Full Primary or morning Mysore practice.
