SEVA Means Selfless Service
We refer to our work-trade program as seva. We believe yoga should be accessible to everyone regardless of age, race, ability or income. Seva participants are community members who are passionate about pursuing yoga studies and have free time to volunteer but lack the financial means at this time to attend regular classes. Sevas work 1 to 4 hours a week for the studio cleaning, checking in students for classes, flyering or applying their unique skills to help the studio and this community thrive in exchange for free yoga classes!
Social & Environmental Awareness
Green Fridays Initiative
The first Friday every other month is Green Friday at Yoga Hawaii. This is a free community showcase for films, presentation, and panel discussions, with a social or environmental focus in order to educate each other about how we can live more sustainable lives. Have some information to share? Want a venue to screen a "green " documentary? Contact us with your ideas and input
Non-Profit Donations & Space Use
We donate annually to the Hawaii Food Bank over the winter holidays, and we donate our space to local non-profits on Friday nights to promote and share their message with the community.
Want to use our space? Tell us about the community work you do and what you'd like to use the studio space for. Contact us for availability at firstname.lastname@example.org
Chemical Free & Low Waste
We use all natural, chemical free cleaners in our studio everywhere from the floor to mirrors to bathrooms. Because you shouldn't worry about touching or ingesting harmful chemicals in our sacred space. Nature's cleaners are good enough for us!
To help us reduce waste, please use the cloth hand-towels provided in all of our bathrooms and the re-usable cups and water filter in each studio.
