Need a Yoga Mentor?
What’s a Yoga Mentor?
A Yoga Mentor is your new best friend, someone who answers your questions about which class would be best for you, or where to find cool yoga clothes, or what’s a “bandha,” or anything else you want to know about this crazy practice called YOGA.
A big part of yoga is the community that surrounds it…just like a family is organized around taking care of each other, so is a yoga community.

Yoga Mentorship is open to all practitioners as a service at Yoga Hawaii.
We understand that the language of yoga and all the different styles can be confusing: “Where do I fit?” and “How do I accomplish my goals?” are questions we often hear people ask.
As yoga practitioners ourselves, we have encountered many of things you will experience. Plus, we LOVE to talk about yoga, so it works out for both us…you get your questions answered and we get to practice ‘karma yoga,’ the yoga of service.
How can I get a Yoga Mentor?
Simply ask for a request form at our front desk at the Om Lounge, or download it here. We’ll assign you a mentor based on your goals and they will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
What does it cost?
Nothing!!! It’s free, and available to you as a unique service of Yoga Hawaii.
What can I expect from my mentor?
Your Yoga Mentor will initially answer any questions you have, and will also make a point to check in with you from time to time to see how things are going. He or she may ask you what your goals are to see if there are specific ways the Yoga Hawaii community can help you. If there’s a particular way you’d like to be supported, like someone attending your first class with you, just ask. We will attempt to accommodate you.
How do I become a Yoga Mentor?
Becoming a Yoga Mentor is a volunteer position, open to those who want to share their experience of yoga and support others who desire to have a yoga buddy. Obviously it is most helpful if you have had a personal yoga practice for at least a couple of years. Some of our mentors have well over 10 years of experience on their mats. However, even if you’re a fairly new practitioner and want to pair up with someone, don’t hesitate to get involved. We have mentors for our mentors, so as one yourself, you’ll always have resources available for the questions you can’t answer yourself.
You can apply to become a Yoga Mentor by emailing Rupali, codirector of Yoga Hawaii.
