Curious about Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, the science of life? Ayurveda is an ancient method of healing arts from India. Today it has become a popular and effective holistic alternative or compliment to Western medicine.

In this four part course you will learn from Jennifer Caldwell, certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist.  Learn about your  body type and how Ayurveda practiced with yoga can help keep you physically, emotionally and spiritually balanced.

Couldn’t make it to all four? We decided to open registration for single workshops at $25 each. Please register online before if possible to ensure a space.

Registration for all four classes is recommended due to the cumulative nature of the sessions, but drop ins are welcome.
You will be required to enter credit card information to reserve your spot online, but it will not be charged until you check in for class. No charge for cancellation.

Intro to Ayurveda, course outline

Session 1: Healing Knowledge of the 2 sisters: Yoga & Ayurveda
  • Learn the basics of Ayurveda and self-healing
  • Learn about the elements and the 3 doshas
  • Discover how the doshas affect our health both in a state of balance or imbalance
Session 2: Managing your health through digestion with Ayurveda
  • Learn techniques to release ama, toxins, from your body
  • Relieve gas, bloating, constipation, heaviness or sleepiness after eating, heartburn, bad breath or body odor
  • Learn to manage your agni, digestive fire, and what to eat to bring yourself into balance
  • Maximize your health
Session 3: Yogic/Sattvic Lifestyle & Diet
  • What is a Sattvic lifestyle and diet and how does it relate to yogis?
  • Learn about Ahimsa and how it relates to a Sattvic diet
  • Discover essential foods for promoting health and which support your yoga practice.
  • Herbs and spices recommended for yogis.
Session 4: Create Wellness for Life
  • Discover 5 practices for creating and maintaining health
  • Boost your immunity
  • Clear and tonify your skin
  • Eliminate sinus infections and congestion
  • Reduce insomnia, stress and depression
  • Learn which asanas will bring your individual constitution into balance.

 

Jennifer Caldwell is the founder and director of Open Lotus Ayurveda. Jennifer is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (C.A.S.), having completed her studies in 2007 from the California College of Ayurveda. She has also completed intensive post graduate study with Dr. Liladhar Gupta, B.S.c, B.A.M.S. at his Dhanvantri Dham clinic in Vrindaban India. Before studying Ayurveda, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. As a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, Jennifer is an herbalist, aromatherapist, nutritionist, lifestyle coach and a huge supporter of your success.

      Yes, the next Ayurveda seasonal workshop for Spring will be held on March 8th or 15th, date to be determined, followed by another intro to Ayurveda series for those who missed this session.
